Donuts with Dads — tomorrow!

For tomorrow’s Donuts With Dads event, parking is available on the blacktop parking lots or streets surrounding the school. For those that park in front of school, buses arrive at 8:30am, so you may not be able to leave until they are all unloaded. Please enter the school through either the front or back door. Doors will not open until 7:45am.

County Line Marathon begins Sept. 24

Get your running shoes ready, because it’s time for the County Line Marathon!

The County Line Marathon is designed to promote exercise and fun while recognizing students’ dedication, hard work, and physical fitness accomplishments. We’re encouraging all students (kindergarten through 5th grade) to run or walk laps on the County Line field during their lunch recess. Students must complete 39 laps to complete the half marathon or 78 laps to complete the full marathon. Students will have four weeks to complete all of their laps — two weeks in the fall (September 24–28, October 1–5) and two weeks in the spring (dates TBD). Laps are recorded daily by parent volunteers. Parents are also welcome to walk/run with their child/children.

Students should try to walk/run an average of two laps per lunch recess to finish the half marathon, four to complete the full marathon. Students who complete the half marathon, those who complete the full marathon, and the student with the most laps in each classroom will receive a prize (half marathon: K–1=water bottle/2–5=sunglasses; all full marathon: medal & shirt or hat).

Please have your child dress appropriately during the dates of the marathon. We recommend layers for the upper body and sneakers for footwear. Please refrain from sending participating children to school with open-toed shoes during the marathon for safety purposes. In the event of inclement weather, the marathon will be held on the blacktop or indoors.

PTA Family Carnival — Friday, May 18 6-8 p.m.

It’s time for the annual PTA Family Carnival. This year’s carnival will feature the outdoor adventure WACKY WORLD OBSTACLE COURSE!, Inflatable B-Ball Hoops Shoot, or the Combo Castle Slide!

Put your skills to the test while earning prize credits playing traditional carnival games such as Ball Bounce, Bank Shot, Bozo Buckets, Frog Hop, Roller Bowler, Plinko, Shoot 2 Basketball, Skee Roll, Stop & Throw, The Madness, Tip the Cat, and Juggling Rings Toss. Then shop the Redemption Center to cash in your credits for cool prizes!

Unlimited-play wristbands for all games & inflatables are available for pre-purchase for $5 by Tuesday, May 15 — or buy at the event for $10. Individual game-play tickets will be available at the event as well.

Please fill out and turn in order forms in an envelope marked “Scrip.” Make checks payable to “County Line PTA.” Cards are typically available within one week and can be sent home with your child or can be picked up in the school office before the following Friday.

The Marathon starts Monday!

The spring portion of the marathon will take place April 23-27 and April 30-May 4. If your child has not yet participated, there’s still time for them to complete the half-marathon by running or walking four laps per day.

Students who complete the half marathon (39 laps) and those who complete the full marathon (78 laps) will receive a prize. Teachers and family members are welcome to join the fun! Come walk/run beside your child to show your support, or encourage them by volunteering to record laps (see sign-up information below). To watch your child’s progress, visit the lap counter.

Parents Night Out with SURGE! 

Get ready ignite, excite & explore during a Parents Night Out with SURGE! 

Friday, March 16 • 6:30–8:30pm • County Line School Gym

Kids can experience an evening of SURGE team demonstrations, martial arts instruction, activities, and games. Parents can enjoy a night out!

The cost is $10/child or $25/family of 3 or more children. Participation is limited to 100 kids. Money will be collected by SURGE the night of the event. Don’t send money in before the event!

Doors will open at 6:15pm for check-in. SURGE will require a completed waiver, which can be completed and turned in to school or the night of the event. Please wear socks/tennis shoes and loose clothing — and remember a water bottle.

Parents aren’t required to stay; those that choose to stay may be relocated to another room due to gym capacity. As an added bonus, Old Town Beer Hall is offering a 20% discount on full-price food that night only! SURGE will provide additional info to interested parents at check-in.
