If there’s one group of individuals who had to drastically alter how they do their jobs every day because of the coronavirus, it’s teachers. Let’s show our teachers how much we appreciate them! Ask your child, “Why do you love your teacher?” then have them create a note or video with the answer. Your child should use their teacher’s name and the phrase I love my teacher because in the message. The PTA provides lunch for the teachers during spring conferences to show them our appreciation for everything they do. However, due to COVID-19, we have to purchase boxed lunches. Due to the increased cost of the boxed lunches, we will be asking for either a beverage or a monetary donation to cover the additional costs. February 22 – March 5

This year, County Line students can help us raise money for our school just by reading their favorite books. Join us for a Dare to Read! Read•A•Thon! Students will dare to set their own reading goal during these two weeks and will earn prizes for minutes read and pledges earned. (See the back side for prizes!) The County Line PTA has a goal to raise $10,000 through our Read-A-Thon.

How To Register

Please go to https://app.memberhub.gives/daretoread. The link will take you to the Student Center. Click on Student Registration and then Proceed to Checkout. The website will provide prompts to guide you through the process. After your child is registered, you can send out donation requests on social media from the website. Donors pay by credit card so there is no collecting money on your end! The donors even have an option to leave words of encouragement for your child and the school on our board after they donate.

I just wanted to remind everyone that Jaunary’s PTA meeting has been moved to Tuesday, January 12th at 6:30pm. The meeting will be held virtually through google meet. It’s that simple! This PTA sponsored event will be held outside RAIN or SHINE. Start your day with delicious donuts and put a smile on your child’s face!

Dad’s, Grandpa’s, Uncle’s, any male caregiver or your favorite teacher are invited to attend with their students. Due to limited seating and parking space, only one adult per family.

CrossWay Church has graciously offered to let us use their parking lot and grounds. However, bathrooms will not be available – so plan accordingly.

Bring a blanket/chairs to sit on and enjoy breakfast on us! Coffee, juice, water and donuts with be served. You are also welcome to pick up your breakfast items and head to the park or take it home to enjoy.

Don’t miss the Tuesday, September 8 Meeting

The PTA will be hosting monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of month at 6:30 pm in the County Line Cafetorium. Enter through back parking lot doors and look for signs. Open to all parents, caregivers, and teachers, these meetings are for sharing news, concerns, and information relevant to all County Line families. Childcare is available for potty-trained children.

Dear Parents of County Line School, 

POPCORN – it’s back for another school year, but with a little different schedule!! Beginning November 13th, we will be selling bags of popcorn to the students. The scheduled popcorn days will be on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. This schedule change is due to volunteer schedules and availability. We hope POPCORN two times a month will still make for a fun treat for the students to enjoy. Profits from the popcorn sales are distributed to staff members at County Line at the end of the year to purchase items for their classrooms, which benefit our kids. 

Popcorn will be sold for only .50 cents a bag. We are again offering an OPTIONAL pre-pay system for ordering popcorn. Students will be issued a Popcorn Punch Card that will be kept in the classroom popcorn envelope at school. You may purchase, with cash or check, up to $7.00 worth of popcorn for your child, which is the equivalent of 14 weeks of popcorn. Each child will need to purchase their own punch card – siblings are not permitted to share cards, as the punch cards are kept within the classroom. We will also gladly accept your weekly payment for popcorn (50 cents a bag) if you prefer pay per week. Popcorn will be sold on FULL days of school only, not on 2-hour delay or early release days. 

We will be serving popcorn approximately 14 weeks during the school year. Any remaining popcorn money WILL NOT be carried over into the next year or refunded, so we ask that you keep that in mind when purchasing a punch card. The popcorn volunteers will be responsible for punching your child’s card. If you are interested in ordering a Punch Card, please fill out the bottom portion of this note and send it back to school in an envelope marked Popcorn Punch Card by Monday, November 11th. 

We are going with the same supplier as last year, Badger Popcorn. We will be using canola oil which we have always used in previous years NOT coconut oil. If you have any question pertaining to allergies for your child or children please contact me at: [email protected] and I can answer your questions. 

We are also in NEED for volunteers to help with popcorn on Wednesday mornings. It is a fun committee where you get to meet other parents from County Line and get your exercise as you run popcorn around County Line! Normally, we schedule volunteers every 4-5 weeks (yes, only once a month!) and we ask that you get there around 8:30ish and we are usually done around 11:30ish. If you are willing to help, PLEASE contact me as soon as possible!!
