Here’s how! Between now and November 6 simply spend at least $50 on gift cards for Meijer’s, Pick N Save/Metro Market, Piggly Wiggly or Sendik’s. *For every $50 gift card you purchase for one of these grocery stores through the SCRIP program, your name will go into a drawing to win a $10 gift card to local restaurant. The County Line Marathon is designed to promote exercise and fun while recognizing students’ dedication, hard work, and physical fitness accomplishments. This year, we are going virtual! We’re encouraging all students (kindergarten through 5th grade) to run, walk, or bike for 15mins a day. Fifteen minutes per day will equal 4 laps. Students must complete 39 laps to complete the half marathon or 78 laps to complete the full marathon. Students will have four weeks to complete all of their laps — two weeks in the fall (October 5–9 and October 12-16) and two weeks in the spring (dates TBD). Students who complete the half marathon and those who complete the full marathon will receive a prize.

POPCORN is starting next week!!!!

Dear Parents of County Line School,

POPCORN – it’s back for another school year, but with a little different schedule!! Beginning November 13th, we will be selling bags of popcorn to the students. The scheduled popcorn days will be on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. This schedule change is due to volunteer schedules and availability. We hope POPCORN two times a month will still make for a fun treat for the students to enjoy. Profits from the popcorn sales are distributed to staff members at County Line at the end of the year to purchase items for their classrooms, which benefit our kids.

Popcorn will be sold for only .50 cents a bag. We are again offering an OPTIONAL pre-pay system for ordering popcorn. Students will be issued a Popcorn Punch Card that will be kept in the classroom popcorn envelope at school. You may purchase, with cash or check, up to $7.00 worth of popcorn for your child, which is the equivalent of 14 weeks of popcorn. Each child will need to purchase their own punch card – siblings are not permitted to share cards, as the punch cards are kept within the classroom. We will also gladly accept your weekly payment for popcorn (50 cents a bag) if you prefer pay per week. Popcorn will be sold on FULL days of school only, not on 2-hour delay or early release days.

We will be serving popcorn approximately 14 weeks during the school year. Any remaining popcorn money WILL NOT be carried over into the next year or refunded, so we ask that you keep that in mind when purchasing a punch card. The popcorn volunteers will be responsible for punching your child’s card. If you are interested in ordering a Punch Card, please fill out the bottom portion of this note and send it back to school in an envelope marked Popcorn Punch Card by Monday, November 11th.

We are going with the same supplier as last year, Badger Popcorn. We will be using canola oil which we have always used in previous years NOT coconut oil. If you have any question pertaining to allergies for your child or children please contact me at: [email protected] and I can answer your questions.

We are also in NEED for volunteers to help with popcorn on Wednesday mornings. It is a fun committee where you get to meet other parents from County Line and get your exercise as you run popcorn around County Line! Normally, we schedule volunteers every 4-5 weeks (yes, only once a month!) and we ask that you get there around 8:30ish and we are usually done around 11:30ish. If you are willing to help, PLEASE contact me as soon as possible!!

Popcorn sales and the Punch Card System will begin on Wednesday, November 13th. ****If you are paying by check (cash is also accepted), please make checks out to: COUNTY LINE SCHOOL****

If you have any questions regarding this system, please feel free to call:

Rachel Borchard [email protected] (989)751-3513 Angela Suva 5th grade [email protected]

Thank you!

The County Line Marathon continues!

Sponsored by the County Line PTA, the County Line Marathon is an incentive program that promotes a healthy lifestyle and the perseverance of striving toward a long-term goal. We are encouraging all students (kindergarten through 5th grade) to run or walk laps on the County Line field during their lunch recess. Students worked hard during the first two weeks of the marathon during the fall. Now they can continue toward their goal by participating in the spring portion of the marathon, May 13-17 & May 20-24.

If your child has not yet participated, there’s still time for them to complete the half-marathon by running or walking four laps per day. Students who complete the half marathon (39 laps) and those who complete the full marathon (78 laps) will receive a prize. Teachers and family members are welcome to join the fun! Come walk/run beside your child to show your support, or encourage them by volunteering to record laps (see sign-up information below). To watch your child’s progress, visit the lap counter accessible under the “Events” section at

Please have your child dress appropriately during the dates of the marathon. We recommend layers for the upper body and sneakers for footwear. Please refrain from sending participating children to school wearing open-toed shoes during the marathon for safety reasons. In the event of inclement weather, the marathon will be held on the blacktop or indoors.

Volunteer to help in 3 easy steps. Go to Enter your email address (you will not need to register an account with Choose your spots and will send you an automated confirmation and reminder.

Feel free to contact Christine Prescott @ [email protected] with any questions or concerns.

Thank you PTA and Marathon Volunteers!

Muffins with Moms

County Line Families, please join us for Muffins With Moms! This has been such a popular event in the past that we’ve had to divide our student body into two separate dates by last name to safely accommodate all those who would like to attend.

If your student’s last name falls between A-K, one adult is invited to attend with your student(s) on Friday, May 10 at 8 a.m. Please RSVP by Wed May 8. If your student’s last name falls between L-Z, one adult is invited to attend with your student(s) on Friday, May 17 at 8 a.m.  Please RSVP by Wed May 15. Date change requests may be considered after the RSVP deadline of Wednesday, May 8, and are subject to available space.

Please use this link to indicate how many tickets your family will need so we can plan accordingly. The event is free and tickets are not necessary to enter; however, a volunteer will ask for your last name at the door. A variety of large muffins, juice, water, and coffee will be served. Please stay with your child(ren) until the bell rings at 8:40.

Please direct any questions to Abby Plambeck, Event Chair, at [email protected] org. We look forward to seeing you there!

ColorCycle It!

With Earth Day approaching, the County Line PTA will be launching a ColorCycle program in conjunction with Crayola. Since 2013, the ColorCycle program has repurposed more than 70 tons of used markers into wax compounds for asphalt and roofing shingles as well as to generate electricity. County Line families are encouraged to join in by gathering used markers from home — this includes both Crayola and non-Crayola brands, as well as highlighters and dry erase markers. There will be a collection box in each classroom as well as a larger recycle bin located in the school office. Markers will be collected throughout the remainder of the school year. Remember, don’t throw out that dried up marker — ColorCycle it!
